ONEWEB
OneWeb Maritime
High-Speed, low latency internet for maritime business
For maritime business operators, OneWeb’s constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites delivers robust, dependable and fast internet with latency as low as 70 milliseconds. With a wide range of marine grade terminals available from independent manufacturers, and multiple data plan options, OneWeb bring a high degree of flexibility to tailor the right package solution for any vessel or offshore platform, no matter how remote it operates.
OneWeb is owned by Eutelsat, the European satellite operator and as a European based company, OneWeb is fully compliant with European data sovereignty laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This is especially important for Government clients, enterprises with strict data residency requirements and for critical infrastructure providers. Data landing and storage can be localised within Europe, ensuring compliance with European standards and mitigating concerns about U.S based jurisdiction over data.
Working with Brdy
As an authorised OneWeb reseller, with near-global coverage and professional installation, Brdy can get you connected – no matter how remotely you operate. Our offering is backed by a fully managed, end-to-end service, including:
Global Coverage
The OneWeb constellation is designed to maintain a consistent overlap between satellite footprints, ensuring continuous service availability and seamless handover between satellites. And due to the high inclination at which the constellation operates (86.4 degrees), this allows the satellites to pass close to the poles, ensuring coverage of high-latitude regions such as Alaska, Greenland and Antarctica and bringing 99.5% coverage of major shipping lanes from the open ocean to remote Scandinavian fjords.
Priority Service Plans
OneWeb’s enterprise plans, Classic, Enhanced, Premium, and Dedicated, are designed to meet a wide range of connectivity requirements, each offering distinct data packages and support levels.
Whether you operate a single merchant vessel, a luxury yacht, a cruise or ferry service, offshore platform, or a multi vessel operator, Brdy delivers robust, high-speed connectivity solutions tailored to your exact operational needs.
OneWeb Terminal Options
There are a range of compatible maritime terminal solutions from OneWeb all suitable for harsh marine environments. Options are available from Intellian, Kymeta and Hughes, from compact flat panels to single and dual parabolic, all produced to an extremely high standard to survive even the harshest of marine environments.
OneWeb parabolic
OneWeb parabolic antennas are designed for high throughput performance and efficiency. Available as either a single or dual parabolic, which features two identical 73cm antennas, externally mounted with a footprint of approximately 250cm x 75cm. The key benefit of the dual parabolic is its ability to lower the risk of latency during the ‘handover’ between satellites.
The unit contains two receivers and whilst one manages the active connection with the satellite. The second scans, locates and connects to the next satellite in the constellation, and seamlessly takes over the connection as soon as the signal to that satellite is stronger. This system of handover to the closest satellite is constantly repeats, ensuring connection to the closest satellite at all times.
